6th Form Challenge
Students and staff from the VI Provision took part in this annual event last year over a 24 hour period from 23rd-24th March. Teams made up of between 4 and 6 sixth formers were sponsored to complete a series of challenges set by the Headmaster; these included visiting a castle, touching something over 3000 years old and even hiring a deck chair! The VI team raised over £400 towards a grand total of over £8000. The monies raised have been put towards the school’s 50th anniversary ‘School for Africa’ appeal to build a new school in Loopo, Southern Sudan.

6th Form Leavers
This summer 3 of our oldest students left the Provision. Two of them, who have been here throughout their secondary school careers, are going on to Higher Education to study Biology and Computing respectively. To hear their views on the time they have spent in the Provision double click on the media files below. The third, who is one of the country’s leading blind archers, is leaving to concentrate on his sporting career. We wish them all well!

Continuing Links with KAB (Kent Association for the Blind)
We are delighted that we are continuing to strengthen our links with the KAB. We have always liaised with KAB staff especially over mobility training for pupils and students at times of transition. However, we are now able to use the kitchen facilities which means that our 2 blind sixth formers have been able to practice basic life skills from making a cup of tea to cooking a full meal. In addition, both students are studying for a recognized ICT qualification with one of the KAB instructors.
