Installation of the new Archbishop of Canterbury
BackTwo staff members and five students were incredibly honoured to attend the Ceremonial Installation of The Right Reverend and Right Honourable Dame Sarah Mullally as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury on Wednesday 25 March 2026.
More than two thousand people from across the country and around the world were invited to attend the Installation, including senior members of the Royal Family, Government, faith leaders, and representatives from charities, schools, and diverse communities.
Three of our Year 9 Student Chaplains, Rhian, Aaliyah, and Jahswil not only contributed to this historic service, but their prayer written in support of Dame Sarah Mullally’s recent pilgrimage was referenced during the ceremony itself, by the new Archbishop of Canterbury.
Jahswil, Year 9 also had the privilege of reading a prayer in front of a very large congregation which also featured in the official order of service.
Noah, Year 8, Alanis, Year 12, Mrs Biegon and Mr Elliott also attended the Installation Service.
Before the event, on Wednesday morning, Rhian, Aaliyah, and Jahswil along with Mr Elliott and Revd Dawn spoke with BBC News about their contribution to Dame Sarah’s pilgrimage.
We are so proud of our students for representing the school with such thoughtfulness, faith, and confidence.
